Two Poachers Killed in Encounter at Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary, Assam

In a recent incident at Charaihagi forest camp area within Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary, Assam, forest officials shot and killed two poachers late Friday night. The deceased, Jalil Uddin and Sameer Uddin, residents of Dhingbari Chapari village, Juria, were caught smuggling fish in Rowmari Beel. Forest department personnel encountered the brothers during a routine patrol, leading to a confrontation that resulted in their deaths. The bodies were swiftly transported to Nagaon Hospital, and authorities have deployed a significant police and forest department presence to maintain security at the scene.
