Two Workers Killed, Seven Injured in Water Tank Collapse at Bilasipara Railway Station

Two construction workers were killed and seven others injured after an under-construction water tank collapsed at Bilasipara Railway Station on Tuesday.

The accident occurred when bamboo scaffolding supporting the structure reportedly gave way during construction work. The deceased were identified as Siddique Shaikh and Saiful Islam.

Seven injured workers were rushed to Bilasipara Model CHC for treatment. The incident triggered protests and allegations of poor safety measures against the contractor.

Police and an executive magistrate reached the site and launched an investigation, while locals demanded strict action and compensation for the victims’ families.
