ULFA-I Suspects Attack Assam Rifles in Margherita, Assam

In a shocking turn of events, suspected members of the banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) unleashed gunfire at Assam Rifles in the Namdang area of Margherita, Assam on Tuesday morning. Sources indicate that three army vehicles traveling from Changlang to Margherita were targeted, with one vehicle successfully evading the attack while two others were trapped in the area. Allegedly, the assailants employed grenades and rocket launchers along with firearms in the assault. Security forces, comprising both army and police, have launched operations in the region, with reports suggesting ongoing gunfire exchanges between the two sides.
