UPPL Eyes 20–25 Seats in Assam Assembly Polls, Rules Out Alliance with BPF

The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) plans to contest 20–25 assembly constituencies in the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, party president Pramod Boro said in Chirang district. He stated that no decision on alliances has been taken yet and clarified that UPPL will not align with the BPF. Meanwhile, BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary reiterated support for the BJP-led alliance and said there would be no UPPL-BPF alliance, including in the BTC region.
