UPPL Nominates Jayanta Basumatary for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Seat

The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), an ally of the BJP-led NDA, announced Jayanta Basumatary as its candidate for the No.1 Kokrajhar Lok Sabha ST (HPC) seat in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections. Basumatary, a sitting MLA and former ABSU Vice President, was selected following a party steering committee meeting. UPPL aims to secure victory not only in Kokrajhar but across all contesting constituencies in Assam. The BJP and AGP have also finalized their candidates for the state’s seats, with the BJP contesting 11 seats and AGP on two.
