Guwahati Police Rescue Boy from Abduction by Father, Search Underway

In a shocking incident in North Guwahati, the city police rescued a minor boy, Safiqul Islam, from the clutches of his own father, Sarifuddin Ahmed, who had abducted him. Ahmed had concealed the child in a house in Noonmati after demanding a ransom of 1.5 lakh rupees from his wife under threat of harm to their son. Prompted by the mother’s complaint, the police launched a rescue operation utilizing tracking technology, successfully locating the child via Ahmed’s mobile phone. Although the child was rescued, Ahmed managed to evade capture, fleeing before the police arrived. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend him as he remains at large.
