USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque Arrested Over Exam Fraud Allegations

Assam Police and the Special Task Force arrested USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque in Guwahati for allegedly facilitating unfair means during the CBSE Class 12 Physics exam at a school in Sribhumi. The scandal involves 214 students from the ERD Group, founded by Hoque, being promised help with the 30-mark MCQ section. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu highlighted chaos at the exam center when invigilators resisted. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma accused USTM of issuing fake degrees and financial fraud. Hoque is under investigation, with more revelations expected.
