Victims of Online Trading Scams May Recover Money Under UDS Act: DGP

Thousands duped in online trading scams could recover some of their lost funds under the Unregulated Deposit Schemes (UDS) Act, 2019, according to Assam’s Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh. He explained that assets of the accused would be liquidated and distributed among investors after investigations conclude. Singh also noted that Assam Police and the CBI have seized assets from multiple accused. Only verified victims may receive compensation. Singh added that DB Stock scam mastermind Dipankar Barman will be brought to Guwahati soon for further investigation.
