Vigilance Team Nabs Corrupt Silchar Development Authority Official in Bribery Sting

In a recent operation, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team in Assam apprehended Abhijit Kar, a field surveyor at the Silchar Development Authority Office. Kar was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC). A subsequent search operation led to the recovery of Rs. 38,500 from Kar, and an additional Rs. 12,60890 was found during a thorough search of his residence in Silchar.

The total amount seized now stands at Rs. 1,299,390, excluding the illicit funds. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, as authorities delve deeper into the corruption case involving the Silchar Development Authority.
