Villagers Fear Land Acquisition for Proposed Aero City Near Guwahati

Kamrup: Residents of 16 villages under the Palasbari and Azara revenue circles are worried over possible land acquisition for the proposed Aero City and Satellite Township projects near Guwahati. Although no eviction order has been issued, ongoing land valuation and document collection have raised fears among villagers of losing their homes and farmland. Tribal organisations have opposed the move and urged the Assam government to protect the land rights and interests of indigenous communities.
