Woman Dies from Alleged Domestic Violence in Nagaon, Family Demands Investigation

A tragic incident has emerged where a woman from Nagaon died due to alleged domestic violence on Friday. The woman, who was undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati, was identified as the wife of Monuj Deka from Majarati Village, Nagaon.

Her family reported that she had been mentally and physically tortured by her husband and mother-in-law, Kabita Deka, leading to her hospitalization in critical condition a few days ago. Despite receiving treatment, she succumbed to her injuries, which her family attributed to serious psychological trauma and continuous abuse over the past year.

In response, the victim’s family lodged a complaint at the Hoibargaon police post in Nagaon on Friday, demanding a thorough investigation into her death.
