Woman Scams Dibrugarh Hotel with Fake UPI Payment

A woman, Priya Mishra, claiming to be the legal advisor of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, scammed a Dibrugarh hotel by making a fake UPI payment of Rs 53,000. Mishra stayed at the Dibrugarh Address hotel for nearly two months, accruing a bill of Rs 1,57,800. Although she paid Rs 1 lakh, the remaining Rs 53,000 was paid through a fraudulent UPI transaction that didn’t credit the hotel’s account. The hotel has filed an FIR, and police have begun investigating the case.
