Zubeen Garg Podcast Revenue to Support Young Artistes: Rita Chowdhury

Renowned writer Dr Rita Chowdhury announced that the revenue of USD 2,909 earned from Zubeen Garg’s YouTube podcast will be placed in a fixed deposit for 20 years, with the interest used to encourage and support budding artistes in Assam.

Speaking ahead of the Brahmaputra Literature Festival 2026, she said efforts are underway to preserve Zubeen Garg’s legacy by compiling his works. On the SIT chargesheet related to his death, Dr Chowdhury said the matter is sub judice and expressed hope that justice will prevail.
