₹4,000 Crore Boost for Assam’s Telecom Infrastructure: Scindia
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced a ₹4,000 crore investment to enhance Assam’s telecom infrastructure at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. The investment includes ₹1,800 crore through BSNL to provide 4G and 5G connectivity to the state’s remotest villages.
The BharatNet Project has already connected 2,285 gram panchayats, aiming for 25,000 villages. The Samridhi Gram Yojana will introduce 5G services in every block, supporting telemedicine and tele-education.
