15 Injured in Head-On Collision of Picnic Vehicles in Tripura

At least 15 people were injured after two vehicles carrying picnic-goers collided head-on at Charilam in Tripura on Sunday. The accident occurred at Chechurimai when a Max vehicle and a Swift car crashed while returning from Khumlwung to Sonamura.

Fire service teams rescued passengers trapped in the vehicles and shifted the injured to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. Several critically injured victims were later referred to AGMC and GB Pant Hospital in Agartala. Police said the Max vehicle driver fled the spot. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to trace the driver and ascertain the cause of the accident.
