17-Year-Old Girl Drowns in Gadadhar River

Dhubri: A 17-year-old girl, Aksara Gowala, drowned in the Gadadhar River at Mela Ghat on Thursday after reportedly slipping into the water near her home in Ward No. 1. She was a first-year Higher Secondary student of Sishupathsala Higher Secondary School.

Despite rescue efforts by local residents and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), her body was recovered about an hour later. Police have initiated legal formalities and urged people to remain cautious near rivers during the monsoon season.
