47 cattle were rescued and 4 arrested by Guwahati Police

Besides arresting four persons, Guwahati Police stopped two separate attempts to smuggle cattle and saved 47 cattle. Nineteen cattle were saved by the staff of Sonapur Police Station’s East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from being smuggled into Meghalaya. Near the Digaru point, the team reportedly intercepted a TATA Ultra with registration AS01 QC 0994. In that regard, the team apprehended two smugglers from Morigaon, Md Iftikar Hussain (age 26) and Md Suruj Ali (age 50).
