Tea Estate Manager Abducted in Assam’s Tinsukia

Gautam Basumatary, manager of the Himalayan Tea Company in Jagun, Tinsukia district, was allegedly abducted by armed militants late Wednesday night. The kidnapping took place around midnight, with the involvement of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) strongly suspected, given their previous activities in the region. Basumatary, originally from Kharsang, Arunachal Pradesh, was taken from his camp, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
