622.5 Kg of Explosives Seized in Mizoram, Three Arrested

The Assam Rifles arrested three people, including two women, and seized 4,980 sticks of emulsion explosives (around 622.5 kg) on Aizawl’s outskirts, Mizoram, on February 21. Acting on intelligence inputs, the Assam Rifles set up a vehicle check post in the Sakawrtuichhun area, leading to the discovery of the explosives. The arrested individuals and the seized items were handed over to the Mizoram Police. An FIR has been filed, and investigations suggest the suspects might be quarry operators with surplus explosives, with no link to underground elements.
