Fishing Restrictions Imposed to Protect Fish Species in Bodoland Territorial Region

The Bodoland Territorial Council has implemented fishing restrictions from April 1 to July 15, 2024, aimed at safeguarding fingerlings, eggs, and various fish species during their reproductive season in the region. The restrictions include bans on catching brood fishes carrying eggs of specific species and the use of certain types of nets with small mesh sizes to ensure the conservation and population growth of fish in the area.
