Guwahati Police Arrest Three in Assault of Rapido Driver

In a significant development, Guwahati Police apprehended three youths involved in the assault of a Rapido driver on Friday. The incident occurred near the Ganeshguri bus stop, where a few drug addicts allegedly attacked Dipjyoti Thakuria, the Rapido driver, at around 1 a.m.

Thakuria was returning after dropping off a rider when two intoxicated youths signaled him to stop. When he inquired if they needed a ride, the youths demanded Rs. 200. Upon his refusal, one of the youths attacked him from behind, striking his head and continuing the assault with bricks and helmets, leaving him grievously injured.
