Milk Prices Surge in Guwahati with Rs 5.50 per Litre Hike

The price of milk in Guwahati has risen by Rs 5.50 per litre, bringing the wholesale price to Rs 62 per litre, up from the previous Rs 56.50. This increase is expected to affect retail prices, which are likely to reach around Rs 75.80 per litre, compared to the earlier Rs 65.70.

In July last year, milk prices were also hiked by Rs 4 per litre, with Rs 3.5 of that amount going to dairy farmers. This latest increase follows a decision by the Greater Guwahati Dairy Farmers’ Association to raise rates, as announced by the Assam Chamber of Commerce.
