Second Autopsy Reveals IIT Kharagpur Student Faizan Ahmed Was Murdered

A second autopsy ordered by the Calcutta High Court in the death case of IIT Kharagpur student Faizan Ahmed has revealed a gunshot wound and a stab wound on his neck, indicating he was murdered. This finding contradicts initial reports suggesting suicide.

The second postmortem was conducted after Faizan’s mother petitioned for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate his death. The initial autopsy and police investigation, conducted in October 2022, did not document these critical injuries.

Faizan Ahmed, a third-year mechanical engineering student from Tinsukia, Assam, was found dead in his hostel room on October 14, 2022.
