NFR to Boost Passenger Services with New Trains and Routes

North-East Frontier Railway (NFR) is improving passenger services by introducing new trains and extending routes, said General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava. Last year, 18-20 trains were launched, and more services are planned this year to meet rising demand. NFR has also added extra coaches and increased stoppages. Electrification and doubling projects are progressing, which will allow faster trains and more services.

Shrivastava addressed concerns about suspended trains during the pandemic, explaining that new trains were introduced as replacements. Work on the Azara-Kamakhya block and cargo terminal at Agthori is also underway, enhancing connectivity and cargo handling.
