Sivasagar Tops Gunotsav 2025 as Assam’s Best-Performing District

Gunotsav 2025 concluded with Sivasagar emerging as the top district for the fourth time, followed by Golaghat and Dibrugarh. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the initiative, highlighting growing trust in government schools.

For the first time, schools were evaluated on uniform quality, with Sivasagar leading. Golaghat ranked first in transparency. The assessment covered 44,077 schools and nearly 3.9 million students, with 17,585 external evaluators.

While many districts excelled, Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Chirang lagged, prompting calls for improvement. Gunotsav 2026 will be rescheduled due to Lok Sabha elections.
