IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in Northeast India

Assam and Meghalaya saw above-normal rainfall this week, with IMD forecasting more rain from May 14–18. Assam recorded 26% excess and Meghalaya 49% above normal rainfall. Thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rain are expected across NE states, with very heavy rain likely in Assam and Meghalaya on May 15–16. Majuli and Mynkre recorded the highest rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya respectively.
