Free Ferry Service Launched Amid Gammon Bridge Repairs in Assam

Assam Minister Kaushik Rai announced free ferry services across the Barak River from May 29 to assist commuters during the 60-day repair of the Gammon Bridge at Badarpurghat. The bridge, a key route closed on May 21, is undergoing structural repairs. Traffic is being diverted via Kalain–Silchar road. Heavy vehicles over 40 tonnes are restricted. Rai assured timely completion of work and inspected the site with officials.
