AASU Demands Full NRC Re-Verification, Urges Govt to File Fresh SC Appeal

AASU has urged both the Assam and Central governments to file a fresh Supreme Court appeal for a complete re-examination of the NRC. During the sixth Assam Accord sub-committee meeting in Guwahati, AASU rejected earlier partial re-verification plans. They highlighted inconsistencies in NRC exclusion figures and called for urgent action. Discussions also covered unresolved issues under Clauses 6 and 7 of the Accord, with the final report expected before August 8.
