Assam Hosts Workshop to Digitally Empower NE Languages with AI

Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu inaugurated a national workshop on Parts of Speech (PoS) tagging for Northeast Indian languages at GUIST. Organized by the Department of IT and CRD-DELL, the event aims to integrate languages like Assamese and Bodo into digital tools using AI. Experts highlighted PoS tagging’s role in developing translation apps, voice systems, and educational platforms. The workshop supports preserving regional languages while adapting them to modern tech platforms.
