Karbi Man Killed in Assam-Meghalaya Border Clash

Orivel Tinumg, 45, was killed in a clash between Assam and Meghalaya villagers over paddy harvesting in a disputed border area, despite a recent peace committee resolution to suspend agricultural activities. Several others were injured as police intervened. Assam’s Border Minister Atul Bora called for restoring peace, while both states continue to assert claims over the area.
