Assam Govt Launches Major Welfare Initiatives for Tea Tribe Community

The Assam government announced new welfare measures for the Tea Tribe community, covering education, healthcare, jobs, and land rights. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said 100 new high schools will be set up in tea garden areas and 80 ambulances deployed for better healthcare. He also confirmed 3% job reservations in Grade III and IV posts and plans to introduce a law granting land ownership to tea garden workers. Sarma further announced cultural showcases of Assam’s traditional dances in Delhi next year.
