Ahom-Era Moidam in Sivasagar Faces Destruction

An Ahom-era moidam in Maduri, Sivasagar district, is facing damage after miscreants allegedly cut away earth using a JCB. The village head, Thaneswar Baruah, lodged a complaint with the Nazira revenue circle officer, while ATASU’s Nazira unit filed an FIR. Locals and student leaders have expressed serious concern over the destruction of the historic site, located in an area rich in Ahom heritage and the birthplace of Joymoti.
