Congress Targets BJP During Amit Shah’s Assam Visit

With Union Home Minister Amit Shah visiting Assam, the Congress attacked the BJP by raising 10 questions over its decade-long rule. Congress leader Pawan Khera accused the BJP government of failing to deliver on key promises, including granting ST status to six communities, protecting indigenous land, creating jobs, safeguarding Assamese identity, improving healthcare, and supporting tea growers. He also alleged environmental neglect and political marginalisation of Assam and the Northeast. Shah arrived in Dibrugarh on Thursday as the BJP prepares for the 2026 Assembly elections.
