Assam CM Asks Opponents to Prove Allegations, Unveils Majuli Projects

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday dismissed Opposition allegations, saying political rivals must prove their claims in court instead of spreading rumours. Responding to Congress charges that his family owns 12,000 bighas of land, he said all assets are declared in election affidavits and termed the allegations false and malicious.
During his visit to Majuli, Sarma inaugurated the Lohit Bridge and announced major infrastructure projects, including new educational and administrative buildings. He also confirmed the start of the Jorhat–Majuli Bridge and said Majuli’s development will proceed with public consultation to preserve its unique character.
