Badarpur GRP Foils Gold Smuggling Attempt, Tripura Youth Held

Badarpur railway police arrested a youth from Tripura and seized five gold biscuits weighing about 584 grams, valued at nearly Rs 80 lakh, from the Deoghar Weekly Express. The accused, identified as Abhijit Debnath, was found carrying the gold hidden in specially made pockets of his luggage.

Police suspect the gold was smuggled from a neighbouring country and are interrogating him about its source and destination. This is the second gold smuggling case detected at Badarpur station in recent months.
