Three Fish Traders Arrested for Illegal Fishing in Brahmaputra During Breeding Ban

Biswanath Police arrested three fish traders — Azizul Haque, Mohammad Anwar Ali, and Mohammad Nur Alam — for allegedly carrying out illegal fishing in the Brahmaputra River during the restricted breeding season.

Police said the accused violated the District Magistrate’s ban order by using small fishing nets and transporting fish to other districts for trade. Officials added that more people are suspected to be involved in the illegal fishing network, and further investigation is underway.
