AASU Opposes Assam Government’s Move to Remove Contractual College Staff

All Assam Students’ Union has strongly opposed the Assam government’s decision to discontinue contractual teaching and non-teaching staff in provincialised and government colleges.

AASU termed the move “rash and short-sighted,” warning that it could disrupt college departments and affect students. The student body demanded the order be withdrawn and urged the government to create permanent posts before removing contractual employees.
