West Bengal Polls: Nearly 40% Voter Turnout Recorded Till 11 AM

Voting for the second and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 gained momentum on Wednesday, with a voter turnout of 39.97% recorded till 11 am, according to the Election Commission.
Polling is underway in 142 constituencies across seven South Bengal districts, where over 3.21 crore voters are eligible to cast their votes. Tight security arrangements, including deployment of CAPF personnel and live webcasting at sensitive booths, have been put in place.
A key contest is being witnessed in Bhabanipur, where Mamata Banerjee is facing BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. Vote counting will take place on May 4.
