NFR Unloads 1,135 Freight Rakes in April 2026

Northeast Frontier Railway recorded a strong freight performance in April 2026 by unloading 1,135 freight rakes across its zone at the start of the 2026–27 financial year.

The railway transported essential commodities like food grains, fertilisers, coal, sugar and salt. Assam accounted for the highest share with 593 rakes, followed by West Bengal and Bihar.

NFR said improved unloading efficiency and better coordination helped maintain smooth supply chains and support regional economic activity.
