Brahmaputra Erosion Triggers Panic in Bilasipara Villages

Severe erosion caused by the Brahmaputra River has created panic in several villages under Bilasipara co-district, including Kamarpara, Kandhapara and Boaler Char. Hundreds of bighas of agricultural land and major parts of Bahir Chuwapata Pt-II village have already been washed away.

Many affected families have left their homes and taken shelter in safer areas. Residents have urged newly elected Congress MLA Wazed Ali Chaudhury to raise the issue with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and take scientific measures to prevent further erosion.
