Guwahati Police Seize Suspected Fake Currency Worth Rs 8.8 Lakh in Azara

Guwahati Police seized suspected fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 8.8 lakh during a search operation in Azara linked to an ongoing investigation.

Police recovered 1,760 notes of Rs 500 denomination from a rented room connected to Mijanur Rahman of Lakhimpur district. Officials also seized iodine tincture bottles, cough syrup containing controlled substances, and two vehicles, including a Hyundai car and a Maruti Baleno.

The operation was carried out based on information provided by a previously arrested accused.
