NH-27 Stretch in Nalbari to Be Developed as Emergency Landing Facility

A five-km stretch of NH-27 between Tihu and Madhapur in Assam’s Nalbari district will be developed as an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) for military and civil aircraft during emergencies, District Commissioner Nibedan Das Patowary announced on Tuesday.

During a District Development Committee meeting, the DC directed departments not to construct any infrastructure along the highway stretch. Officials also reviewed bridge construction, Assam Mala road projects, paddy procurement, Kisan Credit Card loans, and mid-day meal implementation.

The Excise Department was also instructed to ensure that roadside dhabas do not sell liquor along the highway stretch.
