NFR Introduces Rail-Borne Maintenance Vehicle to Boost Railway Infrastructure Work

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has inducted a Rail-Borne Maintenance Vehicle (RBMV) to strengthen infrastructure maintenance across its network, especially in challenging terrain such as the under-construction Bairabi–Sairang railway project in Mizoram.

The vehicle will help transport personnel, materials, and equipment to remote locations while supporting track maintenance, repairs, and emergency restoration work. Railway officials said the addition will improve efficiency, enhance safety standards, and reduce reliance on conventional maintenance methods.
