Assam Cabinet Raises DA to 60%, Approves Dibrugarh Capital Region Authority

The Assam Cabinet on Friday approved a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees, increasing it from 58% to 60% with immediate effect.

The Cabinet also approved the formation of the Second State Capital Region Development Authority (SCRDA-D) for Dibrugarh and announced an investment of ₹500 crore over the next five years for the region’s development.

Additionally, the MLA Area Development Fund was increased from ₹1 crore to ₹1.5 crore this financial year and will be raised to ₹2 crore from the next fiscal. The Cabinet also decided to begin the Budget Session on July 6 and approved amendments to education service rules to facilitate the promotion of Grade IV employees to Grade III posts.
