BJP MLAs Must Remain Humble Despite Historic Mandate, Says Dilip Saikia

State BJP president and Darrang-Udalguri MP Dilip Saikia urged newly elected BJP MLAs and party workers to remain humble and avoid arrogance despite the party’s historic victory in the Assam Assembly elections. Addressing a felicitation programme in Mangaldai, he highlighted BJP’s growth from a 2% vote share in 1985 to over 48% in 2026 and said the party’s responsibility towards the people has now doubled.

Saikia called on MLAs to repay the trust of voters through dedicated service and stressed the need for strong coordination between the government, the party and its affiliated organisations. Cabinet Minister Nilima Devi and Sipajhar MLA Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi also reaffirmed their commitment to party workers and the development of Darrang district.
