AASU Urges Complete Sealing of India-Bangladesh Border

Guwahati, Assam: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has urged the Centre and northeastern states to give top priority to completely sealing the India-Bangladesh border to curb illegal infiltration. AASU General Secretary Samiran Phukan said recent arrests of Bangladeshi nationals in Assam highlight the need for full border fencing, stronger BSF surveillance and enhanced border security. The issue will also be discussed at the AASU central committee meeting on July 6.
