Silchar: A Class VII girl was rescued by police after an alleged abduction case that has sparked concern in Silchar. The victim’s family accused a man of luring the minor away after allegedly concealing his identity and promising marriage.

The girl was rescued from the Madhurband area on July 5, but the main accused remains absconding. Bajrang Dal has demanded his immediate arrest, alleging the case may have links to an interstate human trafficking network and warning of protests if swift action is not taken. Police are continuing their investigation.
