Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging, Traffic Diversions in Guwahati

Guwahati: Heavy rainfall on Sunday triggered severe waterlogging in several parts of Guwahati, especially the 9th Mile and 10th Mile areas, disrupting traffic and daily life. The Guwahati Traffic Police imposed diversions, with vehicles entering the city rerouted via Digaru and outgoing traffic diverted through Koinadhora and Narengi.
Officials said the city received 79.4 mm of rainfall, causing flooding on parts of NH-27 near Jorabat and leaving several vehicles stranded for hours. Authorities have advised commuters to use alternative routes until normal traffic movement is restored.
