Illegal Abortion Racket Busted in Dhubri, Nurse and Husband Arrested

Dhubri: Police have busted an alleged illegal abortion racket operating from a residence in Assam’s Dhubri district after a 35-year-old woman reportedly died following an unauthorised abortion procedure. A nurse from Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, Habiba Yasmin, and her husband, Mostafizur Rahman, have been arrested.

Police seized abortion-related medicines and medical equipment during the raid. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the extent of the alleged racket and identify any other persons involved.
