Assam to Rebuild Key Silchar Road, Heavy Vehicles to Be Permanently Restricted

Silchar, Assam: The Assam government has decided to transfer the Capital Point–Rangirkhari road from NHIDCL to the State PWD for complete reconstruction. Cabinet Minister Kaushik Rai said the move aims to provide a permanent solution to the deteriorating road condition, while heavy vehicles will be permanently diverted to NH-37 and the Silchar bypass to reduce damage and traffic congestion. The government also reviewed progress on the proposed Silchar flyover and other road improvement projects.
